You can explore and enjoy the territory of Fiorano Modenese thanks to a network of mixed itineraries for both road cyclists and mountain bike enthusiasts.
A rich scenario of views across the ravines, through the Salse di Nirano Nature Reserve or following the course of the Nirano River, as far as Rocca Santa Maria (Serramazzoni) or Regnano (Viano). Discover towns, historical dwellings, archaeological sites and natural and environmental beauty spots.

E’ possibile esplorare e gustare il territorio di Fiorano Modenese grazie ad una rete di percorsi misti, per camminatori, per ciclisti da strada e per gli appassionati di mountain bike.
Un ricco scenario di panorami che si affacciano sui calanchi, lungo la Riserva naturale delle Salse di Nirano o seguendo il corso del torrente Nirano, fino ad arrivare a Rocca Santa Maria (Serramazzoni) o Regnano (Viano). Per scoprire borghi, dimore storiche, siti archeologici ed eccellenze ambientali e naturalistiche.

Nature walks in the Salse di Nirano Nature Reserve

There are nine walks through the  Salse di Nirano Nature Reserve, open to all and clearly signposted, and four educational itineraries, designed for activities for schools and families, with illustrative notice-boards. Several paths are also suitable for the disabled and the visually impaired. One is also a cycle path and another is suitable for horse-riding.

The Mud Volcanoes

A breath-taking journey that runs for over 60 km and crosses six towns (Fiorano Modenese, Maranello, Sassuolo, Scandiano, Castellarano, Viano) and two provinces, touching over 50 points of interest, including towns, historical dwellings, archaeological sites and natural and environmental beauty spots. All places linked by the mud volcanoes, known as the 'salse'. A free app with guide and maps is also available.

Evolution Road

An 11 km circular itinerary linking the centre of Spezzano (Casa Corsini) with Spezzano Castle and the Salse Nirano Nature Reserve, on a path and on dirt roads. It includes part of the 'Mud Volcanoes Path'.

From Spezzano to the Salse

A footpath and cycle path on public roads that link the centre of Spezzano with Salse di Nirano Nature reserve. It is possible to walk along Via Del Cappellano or Via Fiandri, alongside the Fossa River, for a beautiful country walk, arriving at the Salse Nature Reserve. Please remember that the roads are open to vehicular traffic and narrow, so care should be taken.

Il Ruvinello

Itinerary from the Sanctuary of Fiorano Modenese to Sassuolo and back, along a public road, Via del Ruvinello. A walk among the ravines, to enjoy the view of the plain from above. Road open to vehicular traffic, so care should be taken.
