Villa Pace

The villa of gentleman photographer Luigi Messori

The villa was rebuilt in 1905, probably on an existing building, by the architect Messori Roncaglia, who lived in Villa Messori in Fiorano.

In the second half of the nineteenth century, the villa was owned by Luigi Messori, an enthusiastic photographer, and then bequeathed to his daughter, Giovanna Paola (Paolina) Messori.

The villa was sold to Fiorano Town Council in 1975, which restored it and reopened it in 1984.

The villa is a pleasant example of a manor. It is crowned with a small tower and surrounded by a large park (now public) of over 14,000 square metres.

The villa is made of brick, with three overground floors and a basement. It has a layered tile roof; the main façade has a projecting central part with a three-arched loggia, accessed Via a wide staircase; there are several painted ceilings showing various subjects and motifs in the rooms on the main floor.

Local council offices. The marriage room, accessed from the external loggia, is also used for civil wedding ceremonies.
